Project Runway is a show that is sure to get all of us fashion girls talking, so I thought, what better way to celebrate the finale than to do a makeup and outfit look inspired by it!? I'm not typically a makeup tutorial kind of girl, but once armed with amazing Mary Kay products, a seamlessly executed face chart by makeup guru Luis Casco and a surplus of inspiration from the finale, I couldn't help but get all dolled up to twirl in this pretty dress and put my best face forward. I had so much fun filming this video with Danny Fung, I hope you enjoy it!

A big thank you to Mary Kay & Project Runway for partnering with me on this project!

I'm so excited to finally share a look from when I was in San Francisco this past weekend. From the treelined walkways, to the stunning architecture, the Civic Center was absolutely beautiful! I walked passed the buildings feeling a little starry eyed and snapping pictures as quickly as I could. It was the very first stop for Ryan and I before we headed out to get some "Soul Food" at a New Orleans inspired restaurant. I wore this tweed cropped jacket to combat some of the chilly weather and paired it with a super sleek gray bodycon dress and green suede pumps for a pop of color. Lulu's has so many great things for fall and such amazing prices! Stay tuned for more looks featuring their chic clothing!

Thank you for visiting me!

School Girl Plaid

Sweater: Wal Mart (similar), Shirt: Target, Skirt: Deb Shops, Earrings: H&M, Sunnies: Amazon, Watch: Michael Kors, Ring: Anarchy Street, Bag: Valeria Smith, Shoes: Gucci (similar here & here)

Plaid is without question one of the biggest tends for fall. So what better way to style it then to pair it with another print that is equally as eye catching -- gingham. I layered a gingham shirt underneath my black crew neck sweater so that just a bit of the print would stick out of the bottom. I stuck with structured black accessories to make my school girl inspired outfit look a bit more grown up. I don't know about you but I'm definitely mad for plaid.

What trends are you most excited to be wearing this fall?

Thanks so much for reading!

Shades of Gray

Happy Monday everyone!
I had a wonderful weekend spent in San Francisco with my dear friend, Ryan Chua. We did all kinds of fun touristy things including walking along the Golden Gate Bridge, exploring the Palace of Fine Arts and grabbing brunch in The French Quarter. Ryan was such an amazing tour guide and it was so fun shooting looks all over the beautiful city, I look forward to sharing them with you all soon.

For today's look, I stuck with a light gray on gray (grey?) color palette and added in a colorful printed blouse for a little visual interest. I'm so in love with the print on this silky Hale Bob blouse and I just know that I'll get a ton of use out of it. Recently, I did a search on Grey vs. Gray and the verdict was that there is really no right or wrong answer. Supposedly, in America it's spelled Gray while in the UK it's spelled Grey. I say, spell it however you like.

Lastly, I'm sure you noticed that A Keene Sense of Style got a little facelift! It's something that I have been wanting to do for a while now and I finally found a great graphic designer, Myrelle, and got around to doing it. I hope you like it!

Real Talk Test-Drive: Ombré Lips Tutorial

The first step is to pat your lips dry and apply your darker color along the outer lines of your lips. I chose Rimmel London's "Exaggerate Liner" in Obsession #064. After you apply a normal amount of lip liner, make the line a bit thicker and fill in the corners of your mouth.
The second step is to apply your lighter shade. For this I chose NYX cosmetics Matte Lipstick in "Pale Pink". Apply a thick layer of the lipstick to the center of your lips and then smudge them together best you can.
The third step is to use a brush to blend away any harsh lines. I picked up a great set by Sonia Kashuk. Blend until the colors have mixed together to your liking. Since this was my first time, I eased into the trend by toning mine down a bit more. The fourth step is optional. I added just a touch of nude lipgloss to the center of my lips using MAC's cremesheen gloss in "Fashion Whim".

I'm so happy to be partnering with Target on today's post. After asking you, my lovely readers, which topic you were most interested in reading about between an ombré lip tutorial, how to style faux leather leggings or how to style denim overalls you chose the lips! And boy, am I glad you did. This is a trend that I have been wanting to experiment with for a while now but I haven't had the nerve. Also, I think it's really easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and to find yourself wearing the same makeup combination day in and day out. Little did I know that creating ombré lips is super easy and the perfect way to give your fall look a little je ne sais quoi. I'm not going to lie, it was a little scary stepping out of my comfort zone, but I think that when you arm yourself with confidence, there's nothing you can't wear. This isn't a trend that I would wear everyday, but it's certainly fun to try it out on occasion. I look forward to experimenting with a deep red ombre lip this holiday season!

Black & White Combo

Dress: Bebe, Hat: Amazon Fashion, Necklace: Charlotte Russe, Earrings: H&M, Sunnies: Zero UV, Ring: Caché, Watch: Michael Kors, Bag: Prada, Shoes: Qupid

I am partial to all things black and white. So much so that my boyfriend starts to look at me a little funny when I bring new items into the house. Something about the simplicity of the color palette really speaks to me, and although I will always be a fan of bold color and prints, black and white clothing have a special place in my heart. This little 2-fer dress was certainly no exception. I loved how the top portion featured a bustier while the bottom featured a sleek pencil skirt. I decided to finish it off by adding in checkered statement pumps and a big red sun hat. Thankfully, I think that we've finally seen the last of the scorching hot summer days. We are starting to finally feel the signs of fall.

I hope that you are having a great week! Thanks for visiting me!

Happy Columbus Day!
For today's look I paired a leather skater skirt with a pretty printed top and black ankle strap pumps. I know that this isn't exactly a fall inspired color palette but I don't see anything wrong with bringing pastels into the colder months. I added in a black jacket to transition this look to this season and a sparkly statement necklace to make things just a bit more glamorous.

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! Thank you all so much for visiting and for all of your continuous support! I really appreciate it!
